Dogless Vacation

Next week, Laura and myself will be going to the mountains of North Carolina for our annual Fall get away. We're just going to try to get some R&R and do some hiking all week long.

This will be a dogless vacation ( the kids are staying with Grandma). So I'll be posting pictures of us this time instead of the dogs.

Tuepelo Dog Show -- October 10 and 11 2009

Mimi Win's a Group 2 placement in the Best Bred By Toy Group !!!

Mimi on a mission.............

October 10 and 11, we went down to the Memphis Agri center for the Tupelo Kennel Club Dog Show. This show is usually held outside but this year due to the amount of rain that we have been having lately, it was moved inside the Agricenter building. The conformation rings were set up in the atrium with lots of sunlight, windows, and glass ceilings. It was pretty nice.

Cruiser took second place in his class Saturday. Mimi took first in her bred by class Saturday and won Reserve Winners bitch also.




As for Sunday October 12, Both Cruiser and Mimi won their Bred By classes. Cruiser took Reserve winners Dog.



Since they were having a Best Bred By competition on Sunday, this meant that Cruiser and Mimi would once again have to go in head to head against each other to compete for Best bred by Papillon. (Which also meant the I have to go into the Show ring with one of our dogs) I don't mind going into the show ring, I just don't want to mess anything up. Mimi went back into the ring for Winners Bitch and guess what ???? Mimi took Winners Bitch and snagged her first points.


Since Laura was showing Casper as a special, I had to go in with Mimi for Best of Breed. Even with Mimi's disadvantage of having the severe handicap of me (the worst handler possible) at the other end of her lead, she took Best of Winners, Best of Opposite, and Best Bred By (by default). Thus Cruiser didn't have to go back in for Best Bred By.


Mimi went in for the Best Bred By group that afternoon and won a Group 2 placement in the Toy Group.




Way to go Mimi.......

Murfreesboro Dog Show September 2009

Sunday, September 27th 2009, we attended the Murfreesboro Kennel Club dog show. We went down for just the one day. It was a super nice/cool day after what seemed like weeks of daily thunder storms. We just had a nice day trip and got to visit with some of our dog show friends also.

Mimi won her class but that was about it.

Cruiser got second place in his class.

Oh well maybe we'll have better luck in Memphis in two weeks. It's an outside show on grass. It should be fun since our dogs love "Outside".

And Santa I still need a new Camera.

Chattanooga Kennel Club Dog Show

That's Cruiser "top left" in the Toy "Bred By" group.

Well Saturday's show was ok for Cruiser and Mimi. Cruiser won a blue ribbon from the "bred by" dog class. He didn't get any points though.

Mimi won first place from a very large "Bred by" bitch class. There were about eight bitches in her bred by class. She also won Reserve Winners Bitch. There was a Best Bred By competition at Saturday's show, so since both Cruiser and Mimi won their bred by classes they had to go back in and compete head to head for best bred by. Cruiser won and got to go into the bred by Toy Group. He didn't win the group, but it was pretty neat to get to compete for it.

We won't even talk about Sunday's show......

But, we had good weather this year and we had a nice time just camping in Chattanooga.

Postcard from Nick

We received new pictures from Mimi and Misty's brother Nick who now lives in Indiana. Looks like Nick's growing into a fine looking dog. Looks like he's got some ear fringe coming on too.

Memphis Toy / Memphis Kennel Club -- Mimi

Mimi attended the Memphis Kennel Club dog show Aug. 14 - 16, 2009. Mimi continues to amaze us with her maturity in the show ring. She started showing very well right from the puppy class. Although she hasn't won any points toward her championship, if she continues to do this well it's just a matter of time before we'll have to start paying for show pictures.... :)

Mimi won best Papillon in Friday's puppy sweeps match and won a whopping $3.90.

Mimi got first place in her class two out of three days and won Reserve Winner's bitch one day.

Good job Mimi..... :)

Memphis Kennel Club Dog Show -- Cruiser

We attended the Memphis Toy dog show / Memphis Kennel Club dog show August 14 - 15, 2009. Cruiser showed well all three days. We were quite pleased with his performance. Cruiser won Reserve Winner's Dog all three days and was first in his class two out of three days.

Today's Featured Papillon -- JR

JR doesn't get much press time since he doesn't go into the show ring. So, in the interest of equality here's JR. JR as in JR from the old Dallas show and also (stands for junior) since he's a spitting image of his daddy Ranger.

South Haven MS July 2009

Mimi and Cruiser attended the South Haven MS dog show July 11 and 12. Mimi got first place in her class both days and won Reserve bitch on Sunday. Way to kick off a show career Mimi. This was her first show weekend.

Mimi's first dog show

This is Mimi at the Paducah KY 2009 dog show. It was her first show appearance. Well, actually it was a puppy B match, but I'm sure it felt real to her. Anyway, she did quite well. We were pleased.
